KAON TAIKO

Taiko, also known as wadaiko, refers to japanese percussion instruments. They have come to be used outside of religious ceremonies or accompaniment of theatrical performances by taiko ensembles all over the world to impress people with the power of drum, sound, and spectacle over the last decades. I have practiced the art of taiko since 2014 and have started a taiko ensemble together with some friends in September of 2019 with the aim to build up repertoire and perform. Our name is KAON (火音) meaning 'the sound of fire', and we aim to grow into a taiko group that can perform in a fiery fashion.

If you are interested in knowing more or perhaps want to book us for an event to spice it up with some strong beats and a lively performance you can send an email to gubbels.jim@gmail.com.
